交流項目

梅玫博士於中國北京故宮博物院進行為期六個月的交流訪問,研究十八世紀清宮織造的西洋風絲綢及氈毯,並學習清宮織繡的定名及分類系統。同時,接受策劃紡織品展覽及修復的專業培訓。

簡歷

梅玫博士現爲紐約巴德學院助理教授,她曾任洛杉磯郡立美術館的副研究員,並於2017至2019年任帕森設計學院的藝術、設計史與理論學校的兼職教授。

梅博士畢業自芝加哥大學碩士以及紐約巴德學院裝飾藝術史博士。其博士論文探討在歐洲影響下,清宮紡織品在設計、織造工藝及展示使用上的變化。梅博士的研究方向為十八至二十世紀西方及東亞織繡及服飾史,並專注於其跨文化交流發展。

近期發展和參與項目

    梅玫博士目前正在完成她的英文著作《帝國的新布料:18世紀清廷的西方紡織品》(The Empire’s New Cloth: Western Textiles at the 18-Century)之手稿,該書獲得了美國學術協會理事會的資助。她亦正在為洛杉磯郡藝術博物館的一個特別展覽開發和研究現代中國紡織品和時裝收藏。
