交流项目

梅玫博士于中国北京故宫博物院进行为期六个月的交流访问,研究十八世纪清宫织造的西洋风丝绸及毡毯,并学习清宫织绣的定名及分类系统。同时,接受策划纺织品展览及修复的专业培训。

简历

梅玫博士现为纽约巴德学院助理教授,她曾任洛杉矶郡立美术馆的副研究员,并于2017至2019年任帕森设计学院的艺术、设计史与理论学校的兼职教授。

梅博士毕业自芝加哥大学硕士以及纽约巴德学院装饰艺术史博士。其博士论文探讨在欧洲影响下,清宫纺织品在设计、织造工艺及展示使用上的变化。梅博士的研究方向为十八至二十世纪西方及东亚织绣及服饰史,并专注于其跨文化交流发展。

近期发展和参与项目

    梅玫博士目前正在完成她的英文著作《帝国的新布料:18世纪清廷的西方纺织品》(The Empire’s New Cloth: Western Textiles at the 18-Century)之手稿,该书获得了美国学术协会理事会的资助。她亦正在为洛杉矶郡艺术博物馆的一个特别展览开发和研究现代中国纺织品和时装收藏。
