Fellowship Project
Ms. Meng Wu spent four months (January to May 2018) at The British Museum in London, U.K., where she collaborated with museum colleagues in digital services. By integrating her own experience from the Palace Museum, Ms. Wu’s fellowship project leveraged the expertise in social media and visitor studies of both herself and the British Museum. She played a key role in the planning and launch of the museum’s Chinese social media initiatives, e-commerce platform, and Chinese websites, as well as various digital projects for the China Gallery and the Sir Percival David Ceramics Gallery.
Biography
Graduated from the College of Engineering and Computer Science, Wright State University, U. S. A., Ms. WU Meng currently works in the Digital & Information Department of the Palace Museum. In her role, she conducts research, planning, and implementation of digital galleries and interactive projects, with the aim of exploring the use of various new technologies and media forms to reinterpret exhibitions and collections. She also actively employs curatorial concepts to digital applications, enhancing their academic and intellectual foundations. Simultaneously, she studies modular and fragmented exhibitions on media platforms.
Recent Development and Achievement
Ms. Wu is currently engaged in the planning, design, and actualisation of the new digital gallery of the Palace Museum’s Da Gaoxuan Dian and its digital exhibitions, as well as online and offline operations concerning digital communications.
